Veterans' organizations pick Memorial Day reps

Area veterans' organizations have chosen representatives to place flowers at the monument at Ashland Cemetery during the Memorial Day service on May 29. They also will ride in the parade, which will begin at 10 a.m. that day.

Representing Harry Higgins Post 88 of the American Legion is Grace Tobias. She is a third-grader at Ashland Christian School. She is the daughter of Anthony and Kristen Tobias and the granddaughter of Mark and Pat Hamilton, Deni and Barbie Lange and Joe and Judy Tobias.

Representing the Disabled American Veterans is Zoe Ritchie. A third-grader at Hillsdale Elementary School, she is the daughter of Winona Ritchie. She is the granddaughter of Warren and Jean Graber.

Representing Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1067 is Micah Rafeld, son of Matthew and Abby Rafeld. He is in kindergarten at Mapleton Elementary School. He is the grandson of Richard and Linda Rafeld. Kaylee Schwartzwalder is the daughter of David and Karin Schwartzwalder and granddaughter of David Schwartzwalder. She is in first grade at Edison School.

Representing Amvets Post 96 is Madelynn Rannels, a first-grader at Western Elementary. She is the daughter of Bill and Marji Daugherty, Roger and Barbara Wilson, Vicki Daughterty and Dave and Joyce Lewis. Aria Emily Edgell is the daughter of Christopher and Christine Edgell. She is a first-grader at Stingle Elementary School. She is the granddaughter of Bobby and Jo Ray, Steve and Patty Douglas and Jim and Stephanie Sholes.
