A 6-year-old child was killed in a single car crash and three others were injured on Monday, May 1, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 12:25 p.m. on Township Road 2704, west of County Road 775, according to a news release from the Ashland post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to the release, Julie Turner, 26, of Perrysville, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber east on Township Road 2704 when she went off the right side of the road. She collided with a fence and tree before coming to rest.
Turner was driving Blaze Turner, 25, of Perrysville; the 6-year-old; and a 10-month-old. Turner was taken by a Loudonville ambulance to University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland for "non-incapacitating injuries." Blaze Turner and the 10-month-old were taken by a Perrysville ambulance to Samaritan for "non-incapacitating injuries."
The 6-year-old was transported by a Loudonville ambulance to Samaritan, where the child was pronounced dead.
The Ashland County Sheriff's Office, Loudonville Fire Department and EMS and Perrysville Fire Department and EMS were on the scene to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
