Two Loudonville students who are now Ashbrook Scholars at Ashland University will direct the Mohican Community Theatre's summer production.
Mohican Community Theatre will present the musical comedy "Singin' in the Rain" on Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25, Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m., Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, July 3 at 2 p.m. at Ohio Theatre in downtown Loudonville.
Tickets are on sale for $10 for adults and $8 for students. Children 6 years old and younger are admitted for free. Tickets can be purchased at Lingenfelter Jewelers in Loudonville, and online at theohiotheatre.com.
Tyler MacQueen, 2015 Loudonville High School graduate, is directing the production, while Carson Chipner, LHS 2016, is serving as assistant director. Both have been active in local theater for years.
Most recently, MacQueen played the lead adult role of Bert in the MCT's production of "Mary Poppins" last summer, and Chipner played Robertson,
Sally Hollenbach, who played the title role in Mary Poppins, and Nellie Turner, a 2012 LHS grad, will choreograph the performance, "Singin' in the Rain" will feature a cast of 31. The musical is based on a 1952 musical film starring Gene Kelly, Donald O'Conner and Debby Reynolds set in the late 1920s during the transition from silent movies to talkies.
Leads in this summer's performance include real-life married couple Daniel and Erin Mitchell as Don Locklwood and Kathy Seldon; Chipner as Cosmo Brown; and Tammi Turner as Lina Lamont.
Supporting roles include R.F. Sampson played by Grant Hollenbach, Roscoe Dexter by MacQueen, Dora Bailey by Traci Cooper, Zelda Zanders by Karabella Hernandez, Roberta by Katie Sherman and Sid Phillips by Clayton Hrinko.
Other featured performers are Lisa Turner, Kate Wallrabenstein, Dennis Morgan, Kristie Perreira, Bronson Mosher, Josh Weber, Mike Coronado, Daisy White, Miranda Kiner, Darla Stitzlein, Sydney Polen, Hunter Polen, Nellie Turner, Isabeau Murray, Dennis Clark, Anna Maust, Leighann Cutlip, Lydia Nall, Gwyneth Hollenbach, Schuyler Hollenbach, Allison Daugherty and Arielle Cameron.
Orchestra musicians include Nicholas Bartulovic, Olivia MacQueen, Carrie Lance, Jenny Carroll, Hannah Carroll, Levi Kaiser, Caleb Syler and Casey Wilson.
