The Mohican Area Community Fund will kick off its 2018 "Have a Mohican Heart!" campaign on Friday, July 14 with a two-hour community celebration designed to promote a greater appreciation of the 35 area nonprofit agencies and other charitable programs that serve the Mohican community.
From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., MACF will play host to its fourth annual health and agency fair on Loudonville's Central Park with a consumer-oriented event featuring information and exhibits by more than 35 area charities, other nonprofit programs and health-related vendors who service the Mohican area. The fair provides an opportunity for local residents to learn more about those agencies that their annual contributions support, and those that directly benefit our community as a whole.
The fair is underwritten by Samaritan Health Foundation and Koppert Insurance. Colonial Manor Health Care Center will again offer a complimentary hot dog lunch with all the accoutrements served to attendees. Freewill donations to MACF's 2018 campaign will be encouraged. Singer/musician Steve Brown and the Mohican Community Theatre will provide musical entertainment, the latter including selections from their production of "Singin' in the Rain" now being performed at Loudonville's Ohio Theatre through July 2.
MACF-funded agencies will be present with displays on the southeast quadrant of Central Park, in addition to several health-related vendors who will share information about health services available to the community.
In 2018, the Mohican Area Community Fund will provide essential funding support for 35 local nonprofit organizations and other groups that provide program services to improve academic excellence in our schools, health and human services, provide support for youth sports and local recreation activities, and promote an appreciation for our community's historic past.
